T20 World Cup 2016 South Africa vs MCA XI Match Highlights: So, today is the day for everyone was waiting for — The start of the ICC World T20 2016, India. But, before the 1st of the ICC World T20 starts, there will be last warm-up match at Wankhede, Mumbai.
The warm-up match is between RSA and MCA XI — this will be the 2nd warm-up match for both these teams.
South Africa – They are in good form, After having a narrow win against India. They will be more confident. They batting line-up is just magnificent, openers leading the match. Supported by in-form middle order, the batting just goes deep.
Talking about bowling, they will have to take wickets up-front. Considering, Dale Steyn pace and swing won’t affect much on Indian track, he always an economical option. Indian track will help Tahir, but Duminy will have to support him from other end.
MCA XI – These guys were rock solid against the English Cricket Team last night. After a good start from the Mumbaikar openers, it was unfortunate that they lost the match.
Don’t forget, some of the players from this team were the part of the Ranji winning team, Mumbai. They won’t let it have an one-sided affair for South Africa.
South Africa vs MCA XI T20 World Cup Warm-Up Match Highlights
Toss – South Africa won the toss, opted to bowl first.
1st Innings – After losing the toss, Mumbai XI had to put a competitive score on board for South African batting line-up. Mumbai XI did exactly that starting with Akhil Herwadkar and Shashank Singh. They scored with a run rate of 10 an over to reach 63/0 in 6 overs.
After the first wicket of Shashank Singh, Akhil went up to score his half-century, later he got out for 61 off 45 balls (8 fours, 2 sixes) where Mumbai XI were 111/2 in 13 overs.
The innings was carry forward by JP Duminy, Armaan Jaffer and David Wiese to reach a good fighting score of 188/4 in 20 overs. Kagiso Rabada and Kyle Abbott had worst night, giving 54 and 52 runs in 4 overs respectively.
2nd Innings – After having a challenging total to chase, South African openers came with a game plan of scoring 10 an over. South Africa their first wicket of Quinton de Kock at 21/1 in 3rd over.
But, the innings were carried forward with the same pace by Amla and du Plessis. At the end of 10th over, South Africa were 103/2.
After Faf du Plessis got retired hurt at 155/2 in 15 overs, AB helped South Africa easily chase the target of requiring 34 in 30 balls.
South Africa won the warm-up match against MCA XI by 8 wickets.
